Meet the Parkland Team Behind Sightline Windows & Doors Parkland

Every window and door we install in Parkland passes through the hands of the same crew you’ll meet below. We’re independently owned and operated under the Haven Standard, which means the person who measures your opening is accountable for how it closes. No floating labor, no anonymous subcontractors. Just four people who’ve worked together long enough to know who takes the coffee order and who catches the detail everyone else missed.

Sonia Raman, Owner

I started Sightline in 2012 after watching too many homeowners in Broward County get a verbal estimate on Tuesday and a bill 40% higher on Friday. Haven Clause 1, Have it in writing, exists because I lived through those calls. I still carry a tape measure on every initial survey in Parkland, Heron Bay, and the MiraLago subdivisions, and I still write the price myself before anyone loads a truck. My specialty is impact-rated glazing assemblies for homes inside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone, where the difference between a PG50 and a PG70 rating is the difference between a passed inspection and a redo. I keep a file of every measured survey we’ve produced since 2012, all 18,000-plus, because the document outlasts the conversation.

Marcus T., Lead Technician

Marcus has been with us eight years and runs the crew on every full-frame replacement in Parkland. He’s state-certified for impact window installation and holds manufacturer credentials from PGT and CGI, which matters when a building inspector asks for the installer’s card before he’ll sign the permit. Marcus is the one who catches sill pan flashing details other crews skip, especially on second-story openings where water intrusion shows up two years later, not two weeks. He keeps a collection of failed window photos from competitor jobs he’s been called to fix, not as trophies, but as a reference library he shows apprentices on rainy days. Off the job, he coaches a U-14 soccer team in Coral Springs and schedules around tournament weekends without complaint from the rest of us.

Elena V., Senior Installer

Elena came to us from a commercial glazing contractor in Miami-Dade, where she spent six years installing curtain wall on mid-rise buildings before deciding residential work let her sleep in her own bed. She handles our custom and geometric window jobs, the ones where the opening isn’t rectangular and the manufacturer, usually ViewLux or ECO Window Systems, needs field-verified dimensions before they’ll cut glass. Elena is certified for structural silicone glazing and knows how to read a shop drawing the way most people read a menu. She also speaks Spanish with our Spanish-speaking homeowners in Parkland, which means nothing gets filtered through a third party during a pre-installation walkthrough. Her truck is the neatest in the fleet, a fact Marcus mentions at least twice a month.

Darnell K., Service Coordinator

Darnell answers the phones that ring at (754) 205-3820, schedules the surveys, and tracks every permit application from submission to final inspection. He’s been with Sightline since 2019 and knows the Broward County permitting system well enough to tell you which plan examiner will flag a Florida Product Approval number and which one won’t. Darnell is the reason our 365-Day Done Right Promise actually functions: he’s the single point of contact if a homeowner calls back, and he keeps a running log of every callback, every photo record, every resolution. He grew up in Lauderdale Lakes and still lives ten minutes from the office, which explains why he’s the one who covers the phone on holidays when the rest of us are off. He does not drink coffee, a fact that still unsettles some of us.

Jake R., Apprentice Installer

Jake joined us in 2023 after completing a construction technology program at Atlantic Technical College. He works alongside Marcus or Elena on every job, learning to read a level bubble on a ten-foot sill and to recognize when a rough opening has settled out of square. He’s already certified for basic vinyl window installation through CWS and is working toward his impact-rated credentials. Jake asks more questions than any apprentice we’ve had, usually at the moment when the rest of us are about to make an assumption. He lives with his grandfather in Coconut Creek and mentions him often enough that we’ve all heard the stories. His first solo task was a single-hung replacement in a Parkland patio home last March; Marcus checked the reveal gaps with a feeler gauge and found them within 1/16 inch. That was the day Jake stopped being the new guy.

One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard governs every Sightline crew across Florida, but this Parkland team is who you’ll actually see. Haven Clause 2, Arrive on schedule, means Darnell confirms the window, not the homeowner. Haven Clause 3, Verified crews, means Marcus, Elena, or Jake arrives in a marked truck, in uniform, with a license number you can verify. Haven Clause 4, Evidence on every job, means the photo record of your installation lives in our system and in your customer file. Haven Clause 5, No surprises, means the written price you received after the measured survey is the price on the final invoice. We’ve installed more than 18,000 windows and doors since 2012 under this standard. The number matters because each one represents a homeowner who knew the price before we started and has the photos to prove how it finished.
